Carving Out Me Time After a Stressful Week
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of PEOPLE®, InStyle®, and Sunset®. The opinions and text are all mine. #SummerMeTime
When I entered into the buying and selling phase of my life, no one told me just how stressful it could be. Actually, to be honest, buying a home was the easy, peasy part. Selling, on the other hand, is the not so fun part. Despite having the best realtor on my side, it has been an up and down emotional roller coaster that I am ready to get off of. Our first buyer’s financing fell through, but the new buyer seems really promising.
Just the whole starting all over and losing three weeks of time is what had got me down in the dumps. Carrying two mortgages is not something I would ideally like to do. Right now, I can only pray it works out to our advantage because our small home is a gem!
After the last week, I needed me time in the worst way. The last thing I want to do is comfort my emotions with bad food choices so an at home spa day, and good magazine were my saving grace.
When it comes to magazines, I love fashion magazines, celebrity mags, cooking magazines, and home magazines. Sometimes it is just so refreshing to check out of my life and gaze at the gorgeous fashions, trending beauty products, and headlines.
I recently picked up the latest August issue of InStyle Magazine while shopping at Shaw’s which features the very beautiful Bella Hadid.
To escape my reality of anxiety and wondering if everything will work out, I sipped some iced lemon water, ate some cheddar, and apples and got lost in the glossy pages. Since I love beauty products as much as good food, I circled some products I wanted to try out.
Oh, and the new perfume inserts inside this edition–they might just make it to my wishlist. Man, do some of the new perfume inserts smell fabulous! It was enough to lift my mood and transform me to worry free times.
I have so much nail polish on-hand so I decided to paint my nails a teal green color. Not sure how much I love it, but the polish is scented so that is pretty neat in itself.
While Carving Out Me Time After a Stressful Week, I also went outside and took in all the sites of my current yard. I am going to miss my gorgeous roses that were a Mother’s Day gift years ago. They bloom so beautifully and last well into the early winter. I clipped a small bunch to enjoy them, lift my mood, and take in their natural beauty.
I will surely miss these little mood-boosting gems. That is why I wanted to enjoy them during my me time. It is so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the world, but sitting down, and taking things in around me with InStyle Magazine helped to ground me.
