Movie Night In: Parmesan Breadsticks & French Bread Pizza #StellaTakesManhattan
Lately, my husband and I have been really appreciating our movie nights in. Friday and Saturday nights are finally our nights to breathe, relax, and enjoy a nice meal, snack and movie. Sometimes we get take out, but for days when we do not want to leave the house, I will whip up some quick appetizer meals like Parmesan Breadsticks & French Bread
We usually tend to enjoy action movies, thrillers, and sometimes an occasional horror movie. Now that Halloween is getting closer we will probably be adding more gory movies to our library of to-watch movies. There is nothing quite like enjoying some cheesy comfort food as you watch someone get eaten…haha!
When we do take-out we usually always opt for cheesy breadsticks and pizza. These are two things that are actually easy to make at home. They are quick, and might even be faster than waiting for delivery.
Since I was working with Stella Cheese this week, I made sure to take advantage of using this quality cheese in my own appetizer-like movie meal.
I decided to make both Parmesan Puff Pastry Breadsticks and French Bread Pizza on Garlic Ciabatta. I really utilized the thick, fragrant block of Stella Parmesan and my cheese grater. There is nothing quite like fresh grated Parmesan when making your own pizza or breadsticks. It bakes up just an gooey as mozzarella, but has a rich and nutty flavor that is hard to beat.
So without further adieu, here is how I made my Movie Night In meal:
Puff Pastry Parmesan Breadsticks
Ingredients & supplies:
- Puff Pasty
- 1/3 cup grated Stella Parmesan
- Pastry wheel cutter
- parchment paper
Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees, and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper
Lay out puff pastry and cut into 1/4 inch strips-give or take a little
Twist strips and lay them about 2″ apart on the baking sheet. They do not spread much but do rise
Sprinkle cheese over them
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown
Sprinkle with additional cheese *optional
French Bread Pizza
- Long ciabatta bread -3 sliced the long way
- Pepperoni- about 20 slices
- Pizza sauce-about 1/2 cup
- Stella Parmesan Cheese -1/2 cup
Slice garlic ciabatta breads in half the long way
Spread quality pizza sauce like Mezzetta over the bread
Sprinkle generously with Stella Parmesan cheese, and top with veggies or pepperoni
Bake at 400 for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and gooey
As you can see these two appetizers, come together to make an awesome meal for a movie night in!
