Soup from a K-Cup®? Meet Progresso Bistro Cups
I have to admit, soup was never a favorite food of mine. Canned convenience soups were just so blah, and my mom’s family soup recipes were always so filling. I have only made my own soup meals three times in my whole lifetime if that says anything. Even just last week I would have never imagined that would soon be hooked on broccoli & cheddar soup that came from a K-Cup®?!
Yes, that is right! I have a new favorite lunch and dare I say it is a soup!? I really just cannot get enough of the Progresso Bistro Cups soups! We recently got to try all three varieties which happen to be the following:
- Tomato Parmesan
- Broccoli & Cheese
- Creamy Southwestern
They come in boxes of three which contain 3 K-Cups® and 3 soup packets. To prepare them, simply use a cup that can hold 16 ounces of liquid. You will be making 8 ounces of broth to stir into your cup, but you want the leeway to be able to mix the soup properly. Insert the Bistro Cup into your Keurig, or Bunn single serve and then start your soup. To mix it, I found using a fork did a better job than my spoon, but either would work.
I tried the Broccoli & Cheese first because it really appealed to me. I was super interested in seeing how the soup would turn out. Would it be watery, thick? The truth is, the soup was exactly the perfect consistency and not too thick or too thin. It was perfect, admittedly delicious!! I had a few pieces of crusty bread with it, and it complemented it well!
To be honest, I really LOVE the concept of this product. I know many of us do not have time to dedicate to a huge lunch so these Progresso Bistro Cups are ideal! They are great for quick lunches, or even snacks too. I am happy to have some in the house for day when I do not feel like munching on a salad.
I know I need to buy more Broccoli & Cheese variety and am so happy there is a $2 off Progresso Bistro Cups coupon! Be sure to print your’s so that you can save on your next purchase!
