Equipment

  • 9x13 baking dish
  • baking sheet
  • slicing knife
  • rubber spatula

Ingredients

  • 12 bakery slider buns
  • 9 ounces Frozen buffalo chicken bites Tyson Any’Tizers Snacks work well
  • 3 slices cheddar cheese sliced into quarters
  • ¼ cup ranch dressing
  • ½ cup celery sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon Italian herbs

Instructions

  • Bake your chicken according to the package instructions. Mine was about 20 minutes. Once chicken is done, set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit (for the sliders)
  • Unwrap your buns and place them on a cutting board. Using a large bread knife carefully slice the buns horizontally to make a top and bottom half.
  • Brush inside of the bottom layer of buns with ranch dressing. I used a pastry brush to make this easier.
  • Add one bun-sized piece of prebaked chicken to each bun. Follow with a sprinkle of celery, and a slice of cheese per chicken. Add the bun tops back over the chicken sliders. Brush with melted herb butter.
  • Bake for 10 mins. Cheese will be melted, and the buns with be a toasted, golden brown color. Serve warm.

RECIPE SUBSTITUTIONS
As with most recipes, there is some wiggle room for this recipe that will still produce delectable results.
Chicken- You can use any brand of baked, fully cooked frozen buffalo chicken. Additionally, you can use plain frozen chicken and add your own buffalo sauce. Simply bake the chicken, and coat in the sauce.
If you prefer to use fresh chicken, cook chicken tenders in bite-sized pieces, and toss with buffalo sauce. Additionally, you can use leftover chicken liked rotisserie chicken. They key is to pretty much cook and toss with wing or buffalo sauce.
Cheese– You can use swiss, American, Jack, or pretty much any sliced cheese you prefer.
Celery- You can leave this out, but we love the crunch it provides for the “full effect”.
Dressing- We used ranch because our kids do not like blue cheese, but I do believe blue cheese dressing would be tasty.
Buns- We used bakery style dinner buns, but you could also mix things up with a sweet bun like King’s Hawaiian.
STORING
These Buffalo Chicken Sliders taste best when warm and fresh. However, you can refrigerate any leftovers and toast them up for 1-2 minutes in a toaster oven. I would not keep them in the refrigerator for more than 2 days for best taste.
We have not tried freezing these and do not believe they would be really good frozen.
