Easy Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Savory, and slightly smoky in flavor, these brussels sprouts have a slightly sweet taste and complement the bacon so perfectly. Enjoy as a side dish for a variety of meals.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • ½ pound bacon
  • 30 whole brussels sprouts trimmed, halved
  • teaspoon salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cut off the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow outer leaves. Cut in half if they are particularly large; set aside.
  • In a large skillet, fry the bacon over medium-high heat until crisp.
  • Remove bacon from the pan carefully, and set aside. Leave grease in the pan.
  • Add the brussels sprouts to the skillet, and coat with the bacon grease, and season. Cover the pan and reduce heat to medium; cook for 8 minutes.
  • Return the bacon to the pan, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Serve warm!
