Apple Crisp- Easy Recipe!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4 Macintosh or Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, wedged to 1/4" thickness
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup Gold-Medal All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup old fashioned oats or quick cooking oats
  • cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon divided
  • ¾ tsp. ground nutmeg
  • whipped topping optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375° Fahrenheit. Grease an 8" x 8" square dish with nonstick spray.
  • Wash, peel, core, and slice apples to a 1/4" thickness. Toss apples with ½ tsp. of cinnamon. Line apples at the bottom of the casserole dish.
  • In a medium bowl, add sugar, flour, oats, spices, and softened butter. With clean hands work with crisp into small beads. Butter should be incorporated fully into the topping.
  • Bake apple crisp for 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
  • Serve crisp warm with some whipped topping or ice cream.
