Cheerios cereal is dyed blue, and mixed with a blend red, white, and blue Sixlets, and melted marshmallows. They are shaped into stars using star pan molds and are perfect to celebrate America’s Patriotic holidays.
With Memorial Day right around the corner, I am all about the red, white, and blue lately! I have so many simple, but festive treats I want to make for my kids, and so little time to do them all. Practical snacks that are semi-healthy are some that I have moved up on my list.
I don’t know about your kiddos, but mine love cereal treat bars. That is why I thought these Patriotic Star Shaped Cereal Treats made with Cheerios are not only adorable, but they are super festive.
Once you know how to make rice cereal treats, you can actually swap out the rice cereal for pretty much any cereal. These can also be made gluten free if you anyone in your family had food allergies.
When it came to coloring my Patriotic Star Shaped Cereal Treats I used Wilton Food Gels because they are my personal favorite to easily color mixtures, creams, and batters. Just a little dip of a toothpick has the potential to go a long way!
To add a cute Memorial Day, or Fourth of July touch, I added some red, white, and blue Celebrations Sixlets. Did you know that SweetWorks, the makers of Sixlets have many different colors of Celebrations Pearls, Sixlets, and Gumballs? We love their candies and chocolate products because they add the perfect touch to all of our baked goods, and even craft projects.

We’ve tried their chocolate and the sixlets products. We love their stuff in our house!
i have not but i really would love to!!!
I have tried a few Sweetworks products over the years. I’ve loved some, disliked others. I do love the fact that I can now buy all 1 color of the sixlets for different baking projects. I used to only be able to find the mixed color packs. This makes it so much easier, and the color selection is much better.
i have tried their candy before. i love sixlets. and i love their orange blossom chocolate wedges, and the chocolate mint sticks!
I don’t believe I have ever tried any SweetWorks Candy Products before. Not to my knowledge anyway ^^;
I have had Ovation sticks but I would LOVE to try lots and lots of other Sweetworks products!
