Lately, I have been on a home decorating and cleaning kick. I admit, I kind of love when I get in these moods because decorating and cleaning are actually two of my favorite things ever! I just finished working on a farmhouse style hutch for my dining area and up next will be some tile backdrop for my kitchen area.
About 6 months ago, we bought a new construction home. This home is set on abutting a dairy farm and has a country feel. I love it so much but the white walls and blank canvases really need some tailoring to my liking. Since home decorating takes a while, I have been keeping things simple and focusing on one room at a time. This month happens to be all about the kitchen and dining area. Since I cannot just jump into my projects as quick as I’d like, I figured I could minimally refresh my kitchen for the New Year.
So, today I am sharing 5 Simple Ways to Refresh Your Kitchen for Spring
Thankfully, there are products out there that can help set a pleasant smelling mood in areas like the dining room or even kitchen. Lately, I have been LOVING the Glade® Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Fragrance Mist No.4 Tempted™ scent.
The Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Home Fragrance by Glade® are infused with essential oils and are masterfully crafted fragrances. You can find this collection at Walmart!
Since I love to make my home warm and inviting, the No.4 Tempted™ scent is ideal. It combines the scents of Patchouli & Amber which make my living area feel cozy. This fragrance line is easy to mist due to it’s continuous spray ability. It really helps to freshen things up with a light layer of fragrance.
Change out Sink Scrubber & Sponges:
Sponges harbor such bacteria. Making sure you refresh them should be a top priority for keeping your kitchen refreshed.
Replace Filters:
Does your fridge or under sink water system require filters? If so, you might want to consider replacing them. Most filters only last for 3 months so replacing them with new ones is a great idea.
Clean out your Pantry & Fridge:
Ever feel like your pantry or kitchen cabinets are bursting at the seams with junk? Sometimes when I open my snack cabinet so much stuff seems to spill out. Oh, but my kids never have something to eat– go figure!
Change out Decor:
Adding some bright pops of color to your kitchen via a new fruit bowl, or pottery can really liven up your space. Who would have thought a bowl of bright lemons could liven up a space?
I was recently feeling really ambitious when I upcycled my parents’ old hutch into a farmhouse chic hutch to display my pottery.
My kitchen and dining area is not only brighter, but it feels more put together and welcoming.
Get in the Habit of Putting Dishes and Unused Appliances AWAY: If there is one thing that I hate it is a sink full of clean or dirty dishes. I admit, I am soo not perfect and often my sink is filled with clean dishes waiting to be put away. BUT, it makes me super uncomfortable to see. In fact, my anxiety rises when the counters and sink feel cluttered. One easy way to combat this is to simply keep up with it. By washing and drying dishes immediately, you can keep pile up from happening. You never know when you Mother in Law can stop by to nose around!
Overall, these 5 Simple Ways to Refresh Your Kitchen for the New Year should help you to feel a lot more prepared for guests. Be sure to pick up one or all four of The Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Home Fragrances by Glade®. They provide premium fragrance notes and essential oils that are comparative to a high-end room spray- but at a price that is affordable and accomplishes the same end benefit.

Good tips! I love your pottery, too, and your kitchen is gorgeous! In my neighborhood, we lost power for a few days, so I was forced to clean out my refrigerator/freezer. But, I scrubbed it from top to bottom, and am so glad it’s clean now. Happy spring!
