Hearty Taco Soup with Ground Beef

This robust soup is loaded with bold flavor and is packed with seasoned ground beef, beans, tomatoes, and veggies. It has all the flavors you love in a taco simmered in a hearty soup.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 85% or leaner
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 cups water
  • 8 teaspoons Orrington Farms Beef Flavored Broth Base
  • 1 ounce taco seasoning
  • 15 ounces black beans *don't drain
  • 15.25 ounces canned corn *don't drain
  • 20 ounces tomatoes with green chilies *don't drain
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes *don't drain
  • cilantro, lime, sour cream, cheese, tortilla strips *for garnish

Instructions

  • Season, and brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a 5-quart Dutch oven, bring water to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer, and add 8 teaspoons of Orrington Farms Beef Flavored Broth Base with Other Natural Flavor; stir until dissolved.
  • Increase heat, and add ground beef, taco seasoning, beans, corn, and all tomato products.
  • Bring mixture to a boil, and then reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Serve with tortilla strips, sour cream, cheese, cilantro, and a lime wedge.
