Summertime is here, and we have a perfectly delicious meal for your friends and family – Grilled Cheesy Stuffed Sliders. These cheeseburgers pack all the deliciousness of a grilled burger into a smaller, easy-to-eat format. Stuffed with Land O Lakes® Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese, they are bursting with cheesy flavor in every bite. The sharpness of the cheese pairs so well with the tang of the pickles and sweetness of the pretzel bun. This is such a winning combo, and the best part is, Land O’Lakes is farmer-owned. So, when you buy Land O Lakes® Cheese, you’re supporting over 1000 farmer-owners.
Grilled Cheesy Stuffed Sliders Ingredients
Ground Beef – For this recipe, I used 80/20 fresh ground beef. I prefer this fat percentage for the juiciest burgers possible.
Cheese – I used Land O Lakes® Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese to stuff and top my sliders. I grew up with this brand and love their cheese and butter products. This cheese has a tasty texture and sharp flavor with perfect meltability.
Spices – Salt and pepper are all you need to enhance the flavor of the beef in this recipe.
Buns – While you can use your favorite slider buns, I prefer sweet and savory pretzel buns, which are so tasty.
Vegetables – Lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle are the classic veggie toppings that pair wonderfully with these sliders.
Land O Lakes® Butter with Olive Oil and Sea Salt – I used this on my indoor grill for extra flavor, and I also used it on my slider buns before I briefly grilled them. It is so tasty and spreadable. I love the sea salt and creamy flavor.
How to Make Cheese-Stuffed Sliders
Divide ground beef into 9 even balls.
Slice the Land O Lakes® Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese about ½” thick and then in half once more. Set aside extra cheese for topping burgers.
Gently flatten each burger patty portion and place the cheese chunk into the center of the ground beef.
Form the beef into a ball to cover the cheese chunk and then gently press it into a patty.
Season each patty with salt and pepper.
If using a griddle or indoor grill, add 2 tablespoons of Land O Lakes® Butter with Olive Oil & Sea Salt and melt. (Do not add if using a traditional grill.)
Over medium heat, grill each patty side for 5 minutes and then flip. Cook until burgers are 160℉ in the center.
During the last 2 minutes, add additional ¼” thick cheddar slices to the burgers.
Spread Land O Lakes® Butter with Olive Oil & Sea Salt on the buns and grill for 1-2 minutes or until toasted.
Once cheese is melted, and add patties to the grilled buns, top with desired veggies.
Add the top buns and secure each slider with a sandwich pick. Enjoy!
How to Store Sliders
These burgers are so good that they will probably go quickly! However, if you have any leftovers, you can store them for a tasty meal the next day. Simply store the cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To heat, simply microwave until warmed throughout.
