Smoothies are some of my husband’s all-time favorite breakfast options. He pretty much enjoys them daily and is always looking for new ways to literally “mix things up.”
He really loves to enjoy his with protein powder, but sometimes we run out. At least he can add a little in with his PB2 Almond powder to help reach his daily goals. He loves the PB2 Peanut Butter Powder but had never tried the newer almond product until recently.
What Does PB2 Almond Taste like?
If you are wondering what PB2 Almond tastes like you have come to the right place! Having tried both PB2 Peanut Butter Powder & PB2 Almond Powder I have to say the almond flavor is much milder.
The flavor is subtly nutty and really could be integrated into a variety of recipe seamlessly because the flavoring is not strong.
In fact, this finely powdered almond product could make its way easily into just about any smoothie or recipe without altering the flavor much!
How to add PB2 Almond to a smoothie
For today’s recipe, I wanted to share just how easy it was to create a fruit smoothie for one (about 12-14 ounces) using PB2 Almond.
For this particular smoothie we were out of plain Greek yogurt so we used the PB2 Almond, milk, ice, a banana for sweetness & thickening, raspberries, and 1 stevia packet.
We added in the ice first, the milk (you can use any variety you prefer), banana, raspberries, stevia, and 2 tablespoons of PB2 Almond. For liquid-based recipes you do not have to reconstitute this product.
However, we do have 2 recipes using PB2 Almond that do use this product in its reconstituted form. Find our Flourless Muffins, and PB2 Protein Balls recipes on the blog!
Once all your ingredients are added, simply blend on your smoothie setting.
Pour into a shaker cup or a super fancy glass like I have here for “pretty pic purposes”. Top with a little extra raspberry, some unsweetened coconut flakes, and sugar-free chocolate chips for a delicious, decadent breakfast.
Be sure to enjoy this fruity goodness while those teeny, tiny icy bits are still afloat. My husband said this smoothie felt like spring so maybe you too will get all those feels with your first sip!?

Smoothies are always a fav around here. I must admit that we stick to a pretty boring recipe. Definitely need to share this one with my raspberry-loving husband. With the PB2, it’ll be the perfect way to fuel both of our days.

How delicious! I love making smoothies for an extra protein boost and typically use traditional peanut butter. After learning about PB2, I am very excited to give it a try!
