Party snacks like this Reindeer Chow are perfect for small crowds. We love easy snacks like our Chewy Chocolate Chip Christmas Cookies or these Chocolate Peppermint Cake Mix Cookies.
This kid-friendly holiday snack mix goes by many names. Some call if Elf Munch, Muddy Buddies, Holiday Chex, or Chex Mix Christmas Crack. Since I added mini chocolate reindeer candies, I thought Reindeer Chow would be the perfect name.
It features Chex™ Rice & Corn cereal coated in a creamy blend of chocolate, and peanut butter. Colorful holiday candies, marshmallows, mini pretzels, and chocolate morsels are mixed in for a sweet and crunchy dessert.
Chocolate and Peanut butter are a match made in foodie heaven. I love desserts like this Peanut Butter Cheesecake and Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies. That is why I love the slightly salty, creamy, and crunchy texture and tastes of this Reindeer Chow.

How to Make Reindeer Chow
Making this recipe is a bit of a mess, but is worth every chocolate smudge. Sure, you will dirty a few bowls and spoons but the end result is rewarding!
You will start out with a medium-sized, microwave-safe bowl and add in the creamy peanut butter, chocolate chips, butter, and extract.
Microwave in 30-second intervals until creamy. If for some reason, your chocolate gets a little thick, add in additional butter.
Once your mixture is creamy, add it to a large bowl filled with 9 cups of Chex Mix cereal. You can use corn or rice flavor, or a mix of both.
Mix with your spoon gently enough to coat each piece with the chocolate peanut butter mixture.
After the cereal is fully coated, add 2 cups of powdered sugar to a large 1 gallon zippered bag and shake. You will need to do this in 2 separate batches.
When all the pieces are coated with powdered sugar, they will have a white appearance. Spread them on the baking sheet.
Add the white chocolate morsels, marshmallows, Sixlets, and snack mix.
Stir to mix and store in in air-tight container, or bag for gifting.
This is best kept in a dry place without humidity which can make the mix feel wet. Personally, I find this mix is best enjoyed within 3-5 days of creating when stored perfectly.
Gifting
To gift, add Reindeer Chow to small plastic treat bags and seal with a twiest tie. I used a combination of standard treat bags and cone bags. I added a red gumball to the bottom of the cone bags for a fun treat. Ribbon and gift tags can add a fun touch.
*Keep this mix away from anyone with a peanut allergy.
