Eating healthier and making smarter choices has been a plan I have been following since the start of the New Year. I am now on to month 5 and I have not only lost weight but feel great! It is amazing how better for you swaps can make you feel so much more energetic and lively.
Walking, aerobics, and gym exercise are all part of my active lifestyle. I typically go to the gym at least 5 days per week and have been making wiser swaps for some of my past favorite foods.
One of the easiest swaps I have made has been switching out the occasional lemon-lime soda for Aquafina Sparkling. Now, with this zero calorie, zero sugar, and zero artificial flavored beverage I can make it an everyday occasion.
Especially after my early morning workout.
There is no better feeling than waking up early, answering emails, and then getting my exercise for the day squared away. After a shower, I typically sit down with a drink like Aquafina Sparkling in Lemon Lime and some nuts for protein.
It feels so satisfying that this product can be easily purchased at Target and enjoyed everywhere. Sometimes, I even add one to my gym bag if I have errands to run after the gym.

Since I am all about healthier swaps, I wanted to share this recipe for Healthy Turkey Sliders with you all. These turkey sliders are quick to make and you can even prep ahead to have an easy post-workout meal for after your gym session.
Here is what you will need for these Healthy Turkey Sliders
- 1 lb of organic ground turkey
- 1 small spiral cut cucumber
- 2 small sliced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup of baby spinach
- cole slaw veggie mix
- 1/2 cup of panko bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup of ketchup
- 1/4 cup of yellow mustard
- 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup of reduced fat mayo
- 1 tsp of white sugar
- salt & pepper to taste
Assemble the cole slaw using the veggie mix, cider, mayo, and spices, and allow it to chill for at least 1-2 hours to get the flavors melding.
Prep toppings and place them in containers for quick access later on.
Heat a skillet to med-low heat and spray with non-stick olive oil spray
In a bowl, mix turkey meat with egg, bread crumbs, sauces, and spices.
Form turkey into small ball and then gently press them down with an indent in the center. The indent will help them from turning into meatballs.
Place mini burgers on a pre-heated skillet and cook for 3-5 mins per side. Turkey cooks quick but I suggest you slice a tiny slit to make sure the meat is fully cooked.
To assemble burgers, slice your slider buns in half, add one turkey burger patty, some cole slaw, and your desired toppings. Enjoy with some Aquafina Sparkling for a tasty and lighter meal.
