Ingredients
Butter – You will want to use unsalted butter for these peanut butter bars.
Sugar – Both white, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar are needed to make these brownies.
Eggs – Four large eggs are needed to make these brownies moist & chewy.
Extract – Vanilla extract adds a lovely flavor to these.
Peanut Butter – You will need one cup of peanut butter for these. I prefer to do half creamy and half chunky.
Flour – All-purpose flour is what is needed for these.
Baking powder – This helps these to rise a bit.
Salt – A little salt helps to enhance the flavor of these.
REESE’S Pieces – These are added to the tops of these brownies. You could omit them without much difference.
How to Make Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Line a 11 x 13 metal or glass baking pan with parchment paper so you can easily lift your brownies right out once they are cooled.
In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the peanut butter, melted butter, white sugar and brown sugar together. Slowly add the eggs, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk the flour and baking powder.
Slowly add the flour and baking powder mix to the peanut butter mixture and slowly mix or fold to combine all ingredients. DO NOT OVER MIX! Over mixing will make fluffy cake-like brownies.
Smooth the batter into the 11 x 13 pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. They will feel firm on top and moist in the center.
Allow them to cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting them
Recipe Swaps
Toppings – You can use peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or nuts.
Peanut Butter – Chunky or creamy can be used. I do not recommend using natural or stir varieties of peanut butter as those are not the right consistency.
How to Store These
To store your peanut butter brownies, simply place them in an airtight container and keep them at room temperature. They should stay fresh for up to a week. If you’d like them to last even longer, you can freeze them for up to two months. Just be sure to thaw them before serving. Enjoy!

Just fyi, since there’s no chocolate/cocoa powder involved in making the bars themselves, these are blondies as opposed to brownies.
