Are you a fan of White Queso dip? If so, you are going to love this delicious White Queso Dip made with Cooper Cheese & simple ingredients. It is perfect for chips, crackers, or even over enchiladas. This post is sponsored by Cooper Cheese.
One of my favorite guilty pleasures happens to be nachos, or chips and queso. I first fell in love with homemade queso when Jared made it for me over 15 years ago. It was his signature recipe that used white American cheese and fresh veggies with a dash of cilantro.
Fast forward some time later, and we still make this 10-minute dip monthly, but we now use quality Cooper Sharp White Cheese which makes all the difference!
Have you ever tried Cooper Cheese? It is made with just a few simple ingredients and has been around for over 100 years!
The recipe is still the same one they used during the olden days which makes it better than any other deli cheese you can buy. In fact, Cooper Cheese has a cult following of fans! Once you try this premium cheese which is slightly sharp and perfectly creamy, you will be hooked too!
This cheese is really popular up here in New England and can be purchased at retailers like Shaw’s and BJ’s Wholesale. You find Cooper Cheese in the deli and it is sold by the pound.
Enjoy it sliced for burgers and sandwiches, or buy it in chunks like we do–the choice is yours! You can find it in white and yellow varieties.
For this 10 minute, White Queso Dip I used about 1 lb of the Cooper Sharp White Cheese white variety. Paired with some simple additional spices and add-ins and 10 minutes later, we had the perfect stovetop queso.
Ingredients in Stovetop Queso
- 1 lb Cooper Sharp White Cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tablespoon diced tomato
- 1 tablespoon diced cilantro
- 1 tablespoon diced jalapeno (seeded and cored)
- 1 tablespoon diced sweet pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp flour
To help my cheese melt evenly, I cubed it into into little pieces. I added the milk and butter to a medium saucepan and added the cubes. Over medium heat, I stirred for about 5 minutes until the cheese melted.
Once the cheese was melted I added the flour to thicken it. This cheese cools very fast so enjoy it right away.
How to Reheat Queso
To reheat queso, add the solid cheese to a small saucepan and stir until melted. Additionally, you can also microwave it and stir in between 30 second intervals. Typically, I add in another pinch of cilantro to help bolden the flavor.
Foods to Eat Queso With
This queso recipe is perfect with chips, crackers, french fries, nachos, over chicken, on enchiladas, or as part of Queso Stuffed Pepper Poppers. I will be sharing this tasty recipe on Savvy Saving Couple this week!
