If you love sweet and savory desserts, these Kitchen Sink Junk Food Brownies are exactly what you need in your life. You can use boxed brownie mix or your favorite recipe to make these everything but the kitchen sink “junk food” brownies.
Thank you, Tastefully Simple for sponsoring today’s giveaway with an additional prize pack for one lucky fan!
Looking for a tasty, sweet, and salty dessert? These fudge brownies are perfect for you! They are topped with my favorite junk food snacks! The crunchy, golden brown potato, and corn chips keep their crunchiness when baked on top of brownies. The addition of salty pretzel rods and caramel corn take these boxed brownies to the next level.
I was inspired to make these Junk Food Brownies because I love the combination of potato chips and chocolate. In fact, chocolate covered potato chips are my favorite! These brownies were the perfect “baby” of these two snack faves.
These Kitchen Sink Junk Food Brownies are made even more delicious by using one of my favorite boxed brownie mix, Truffle Fudge Brownie Mix from Tastefully Simple. I have been a fan of this company for the last 15 years after I attended my first party.
I love their frozen drink mixes, spices, and boxed products! Pretty much everything Tastefully Simple makes is scrumptious! This June, they are also celebrating their 25th anniversary! That is why they are celebrating by allowing us to give one lucky reader their own $100+ value prize pack!

Junk food brownies
Pan size
I used a 7″ x 11″ brownie pan to bake up ours for 25 minutes. If you use an 8″ x 8″ pan it might take an additional 5-8 minutes due to the brownies being thicker.
Toppings
The beauty of this Junk Food Brownies recipe a.k.a Everything But the Kitchen Sink Brownies is that you can mix and match what you add on top.
We used the following toppings: ruffled potato chips, corn chips, caramel popcorn, pretzel rods, and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
You could use these toppings as well:
- Salted peanuts
- Marshmallows
- Tortilla Chips
- Peanut butter chips
- Caramel bits
Baking tips
Be sure to follow the instructions on your brownie package. You can still cater your brownies to either chewy or fudgey styles for most brands. For these Tastefully Simple Truffle Fudge Brownies I really only had to add 2 eggs and 1 stick of melted butter.
For baking, lining your brownie pan with parchment paper makes for an easy cleanup, and cutting process.
To cut brownies, be sure they have cooled for 15 minutes or more. Use a knife to cute them into 9-12 squares. Expect some of the toppings to be left behind as they will fall off….these are my favorite to pop in my mouth–haha!
Overall, these Kitchen Sink Junk Food Brownies were excellent! The sweetness combined with the salty snack toppings made for a party in my mouth. I would totally recommend you give them a shot!
Freshness
These brownies are best when eaten within 3 days (freshest in the first 24 hours. Unfortunately, they do not freeze well, and should be stored in an air-tight container at room temperature.
