With the Big Game this upcoming Sunday, I wanted to take the time to share this tasty chicken bacon appetizer with you all. It is a lot less calories verses many of my other rich appetizers, but packs a sweet and savory punch.
You are most definitely going to want these Sweet & Spicy Chicken Bacon Dippers made with Al Fresco Chicken Bacon at your game day party!
Imagine a slightly spicy and crispy treat that is balanced out with some brown sugar sweetness. That is exactly what these sweet & spicy chicken dippers bring to your mouth.
Basically, they are a party in your mouth kind of deliciousness. Best of all, they are pretty easy to make. The key is to use al fresco Uncured Chicken Bacon because it contains 70% less fat verses traditional pork bacon.
Plus, it is 100% all natural which I really love!
I whipped up some quick honey mustard dipping sauce by using mayo, regular yellow mustard, honey and black pepper.
Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
- 3/4 cup of regular mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Directions
Whisk all the above ingredients until smooth and creamy; refrigerate until consuming.
Dip chicken into the honey mustard.
Bacon Wrapped Chicken Strips
Equipment
- baking sheet
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs chicken strips
- 1 package bacon we used chicken bacon *you can use your favorite.
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Herbs de Provence
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper, place a grate on top of your pan to catch the grease. This will also keep your dippers crispy and not soggy.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cut chicken strips into 1/2 inch thick strips about 2 inches in length; coat with oil
- Cut bacon into thirds.
- Wrap bacon around your chicken strips.
- Coat each with the spices mixture.
- Coat each with brown sugar.
- Bake for 50 mins or until bacon is crispy
- Serve with honey mustard dipping sauce.

You can use any type of bacon for this recipe. Mixing the brown sugar with the spices will make dipping easier. Parchment paper prevents the brown sugar from making your baking sheet super sticky. You can skip the brown sugar if you want to keep to keep this recipe low-carb. Cesar, or ranch dressing makes a good keto or low-carb dipping sauce.ÂNutrition
